Douglas Lake Lodge in the Smoky Mountains

The Douglas Lake Lodge experience begins when you enter the iron gates and stone pillars. As you pull up the circular driveway your eyes widen with delight taking in the generous porch and interesting gables and architectural lines. You’re tempted to just plop down on the front porch and take a deep breath gazing into the woods. The double front doors entice you inside to see what awaits. The large entryway displays the beginning of the floor to ceiling glass panels that soothe your eyes.
The Space:
Flat Creek Lodge offers five more than ample bedrooms, a small bedroom and a loft above the kitchen with eight single beds which are accessed by way of a sleek spiral wood staircase attached to a field stone fireplace that stretches 28 feet high.
In summary, there are two king beds, two queen beds, one double bed and 11 single beds available.
16 beds and half a dozen couches for sleeping are available, 2 1/2 baths upstairs, one downstairs full bath , and a full bath in the pool house and an outdoor shower.
There is ample parking available and 100 acres to explore. Also down the hill is a dock and private cove for swimming.
Guest Access:
Guest access includes a private pool, tennis court, dock, pool table, ping-pong table and lots of books for reading and games. Horseback riding is available 1 mile from the house and boat rentals are available one mile by water down near the dam. Currently there is no Wifi available. There are old TVs but no cable TV. We ask that guests do not get in the ponds, and swim at their own risk when the pool is open. Inside fireplaces should not be used.

minimal unless needed
Other Things to Note:
Grocery stores, restaurants and gas are available about 6 miles away on Highway 66.
