Rancho San Vicente is a quaint hotel nestled in a beautiful wooded area 5km outside the town of Viñales. A bird watching trailhead lies just outside the hotel entrance, but even from your porch you can hear and see many species which frequent the area. Horseback riding is another popular activity here.
A small wooden bridge brings you to the reception of Rancho San Vicente. Fresh flowers, harvested from the grounds, add a homey, natural touch. There is a pool here, perfect for relaxing after a day sightseeing or hiking.
The rooms are arranged along a gently sloping rise, surrounded by woods. The older rooms are significantly inferior to the newer log cabins, imported from Chile and Brazil. These have such a striking design and integrate so well with the landscape, it truly feels like you’re in an upscale log cabin. The original rooms have been refurbished and equipped with modern amenities, but the charm of the wooden cabins is undeniable.
The waters of the nearby river San Vicente are hypothermal and their mineral content highly valued for therapeutic purposes. At the San Vicente complex you can enjoy mud therapy, medicinal soaks, and massage.
Getting there
Stay on route 241 (from Pinar del Rio) for five kilometers past Viñales village, when you’ll see Rancho San Vicente on your right, 200 meters after La Cueva del Indio. (Pre-arranged) private transfers take travelers to the hotel entrance. The Viñales Tour Bus stops here frequently on its daily route.
